Principles of Critical Thinking:

According to CIPD (2019), critical thinking is the professional practise of analysing, evaluating, and applying information in an active way to make decisions and action. It makes the reasoning objective, rational and unbiased.

There are three principles which are quite applicable at Technivara.

Evidence based reasoning: This refers to basing judgements on credible facts and not assumptions or customs (Psychology Town, 2024). As an illustration, the paper-based records should be substituted by surveys, turnover rates, and industry standards as the foundation of the decisions regarding the retention of employees.

Open-mindedness: This can be described as the ability to listen to different viewpoints and debate one’s own assumptions. At Technivara, where Bill favours more traditional approaches, critical thinking demands that leaders must listen to new ideas like that of digital HR systems and not discount them too soon.

Clarity and precision: This principle makes sure that the arguments are stated in a specific, accurate and clear way. Unclear or unclear reasoning may give rise to misconceptions (Psychology Town, 2024). An example is in the case where the problem of recruitment is being addressed, it must be clarified as to whether the problem is time-to-hire, quality of the applicant, or cost.

  Using Critical Thinking in My own ideas:

I apply these principles when presenting arguments objectively at Technivara when I offer ideas there. With a solid line of evidence, I would advocate those proposals that have data, like the demonstration of how digital HR systems have led to a 15% reduction in turnover in a similar company. Through open-mindedness, I would be open to receiving feedbacks through other coworkers since my original proposal may require some improvements. Using clarity and precision, I would make sure that my arguments are presented in simple language, with no jargon, and I would explicitly place recommendations in connexion with business results such as cost reduction or enhanced talent retention. This regimented practise makes my input more convincing and easy to consider by the Board.
