Workforce planning plays a crucial character in ensuring ParcelCare employs the right people to respond to operation needs effectively (Hayden, 2023). In supporting the process, organisations apply several approaches for workforce needs analysis and future needs forecasting.
Two of the successful approaches are Method Study and the Delphi Technique;
Both are strong and weak in areas, but together, when applied effectively, they can have a great impact on workforce planning.
Method Study
Method Study is a scientific approach to examining work processes to make them more efficient and optimize resource utilization (CIPD, 2023). It is a way of investigating tasks, workflows, and employees’ productivity to ascertain where they can be improved.
Advantages:
- Improves Efficiency: By assessing and restructuring workflows, ParcelCare can eliminate unnecessary tasks, reduce redundancies, and streamline operations, leading to better resource utilisation.
