Question 2 (AC 1.2 Discuss two of your personal or ethical values that you believe will help you in your new role, and how consistently applying these will inform your people practice work at Nexxobyte
One of the core values that I can relate to is the Courage to Challenge.
In the role of a people professional, activating positive change can start with constructive challenge of the status quo, as stated by (CIPD, 2023a). In Nexxobyte where disjointed ways of doing things and an unstructured management style have led to discontent and talent wastage among the staff members, I realise that I must be assured of having the ability to raise an issue and come up with new suggestions.
The application of this value will enable me to contribute to the vision of Aisha to facilitate change by notifying when current practices lack fairness, consistency, or are ineffective. Specifically, I will speak up on unequal access to paid L&D, advocate for a formal and inclusive learning plan.
It also implies being bold enough to approach Kit and the team managers in a tactful but persuasive way to facilitate harmonization in leadership practice. After all, having the courage will help establish a more responsible, transparent, and value-based workplace.
