While Nexxobyte is currently doing well financially, it’s important to recognise that long-term success is built on more than just profit. The idea of investing in constant, inclusive, fair people practices is not being really risk-averse or adopting so-called feel-good policies, but it is about getting the people to the full performance level, after which the business directly benefits. The Hierarchy of Needs presented by Maslow is based on the motivation of individuals to attain various needs, starting with the basic needs (like safety and security), followed by psychological ones (belonging and esteem), and finally self-actualisation (McLeod, 2025).
When individuals feel that they are involved, appreciated, and treated equitably, then their psychological needs are more likely to be satisfied, and this enables them to feel safe, respected, and connected at work.
The inconsistency between teams has been a problem at Nexxobyte; thus, to make every employee feel that they are equally supported, establishing the context of such an environment is necessary. When human beings feel that there is unfairness and favouritism involved, then morale, motivation, and general mental wellbeing are affected negatively (CIPD, 2024a). On the other hand, transparent and empowering tactics make people feel appreciated and attracted- they become more willing to contribute to their maximal efforts, creativity, and job sense and satisfaction.
