In reviewing my behaviour against the Associate-level standards for Working Inclusively in the CIPD Profession Map, I reflected on my own actions and sought feedback from a colleague I collaborate with closely.

This combination gave me a balanced view of how I work and how I am perceived by others.

On Inclusivity, I make efforts to understand colleagues as individuals, which helps me build stronger working relationships. My colleague confirmed this, noting that I show genuine interest in people. For Valuing Diversity, I invite different perspectives in discussions, but the feedback highlighted that I could be more intentional in encouraging quieter voices. Regarding Building Relationships, I have strong ties within my immediate team, yet I need to extend this further across wider groups. My colleague’s feedback suggested that while I am reliable, I can sometimes be less visible outside my direct work circle. In terms of Sharing Knowledge, I regularly exchange information, though I could be more proactive in offering insights beyond my area. On Conflict Resolution, I remain calm and support others in finding common ground, something my colleague felt I handle effectively. For Psychological Safety, I encourage openness but could role-model it more by admitting my own mistakes. Overall, I meet Associate-level expectations but need to enhance cross-team collaboration, amplify diverse voices, and demonstrate greater openness. This is a major evidence of my success as a people practice professional in my practice. I am well positioned to build my skills and knowledge in all the identified proficiency areas.

 

Q8. Research and identify two ways the people practitioner role (generalist or any specialist) is evolving. Summarise these two developments and the implications they have for your ongoing professional development.  (AC 3.1)

The first development in HR role is the integration of technology and data-driven HR practices. Tools such as AI, automation and people analytics are now widely used in recruitment, performance reviews and workforce planning. Instead of focusing only on administrative tasks, practitioners are expected to interpret data to provide strategic insights (Mohdzaini, 2022). For example,
