(Solution) 5CO01 factors that could impact employee wellbeing at Artiron Motors including why it is important that these factors are addressed (AC 2.5)
Solution
The CIPD‘s Health and Wellbeing at Work Survey 2022 states that there is a depressing lack of management attention on health and wellbeing when compared to the first year of the epidemic (CIPD ,2022). Artiron Motors should prioritise employee wellbeing as it directly correlates with overall organisational success and employee performance. A focus on worker wellbeing contributes to enhanced motivation, increased job satisfaction, and improved mental and physical health.

Staff members that are happy and invested in what they do are more inclined to go above and above in their work. A healthy work environment that values its employees’ well-being can also cut down on absenteeism and turnover, which means less money spent on training and new hires.
Advantages:
- Improved Employee Engagement: Prioritising wellbeing fosters a positive work environment, leading to higher levels of employee engagement and commitment.
- Increased Productivity: Employees who feel supported and valued in terms of their wellbeing are likely to be more productive and focused on their tasks.
Disadvantages:
- High Turnover and Absenteeism: Neglecting wellbeing may lead to higher turnover rates and increased absenteeism as employees may experience burnout or disengagement.
- Lower Morale: A lack of focus on wellbeing can contribute to lower morale, impacting the overall mood and motivation of the workforce.
Factors Impacting Wellbeing in the Workplace:
Workload and Job Demands:
Impact: Excessive workload and unrealistic job demands in the manufacturing of vehicles can negatively impact both physical and mental health. Employees may experience stress, burnout, and a decline in overall wellbeing.
Impact of Not Focusing on Wellbeing: Without addressing workload issues in vehicles manufacturing, organisations risk decreased motivation, increased stress-related illnesses, and a decline in overall productivity.
Workplace Culture and Social Support:
Impact: A supportive workplace culture that fosters positive relationships among colleagues positively impacts mental health and job satisfaction. Social support is crucial for wellbeing.
Impact of Not Focusing on Wellbeing: A lack of attention to workplace culture and social support can lead to feelings of isolation, decreased morale, and potential mental health issues among employees.
